Dr. Stephen McBride joined Surgical Arts in August of 2017. Dr. McBride was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and grew up in his hometown of Aliceville, Alabama. He completed his bachelor of science degree in Sports Medicine at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. During this time, he was elected to the Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Society, and served as vice president of the Student Government Association. He obtained his medical degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine and graduated in May 2012. He received the Argus Award in 2011. Dr. McBride completed his general surgery residency at Atlanta Medical Center in Atlanta, Georgia in June of 2017. He served on the Resident Council during this time.
As a board eligible general surgeon by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. McBride provides a variety of common surgical procedures to include general open and laparoscopic procedures, endoscopic procedures, vascular, thoracic, breast, and emergency trauma. He is certified in ATLS and ACLS. Dr. McBride has interest in patient wound care and emergency general surgery.
In Dr. McBride’s free time, he enjoys college football, grilling out, being outdoors, hiking and going to the gym.
