Dr. Evans joined Surgical Arts, P.C. in August 1992. He is a native of Neosho, Missouri. He was awarded an academic scholarship to the University of Missouri where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1980. He was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity and Pi Omicron Sigma Honorary Society for leadership. Continuing his studies there, he received a Master of Science degree in 1983 prior to attending medical school at Ross University. His surgical training was obtained at the Mount Sinai Hospital Medical Center and the Chicago Medical School in Chicago, IL. During his final year of residency he served as a clinical instructor and Chief Administrative Resident for the Department of Surgery. He served on the Trauma Committee, Operating Room Committee, and Education Committee.
Dr. Evans is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is an active member of the Alabama State Medical Association, and the Cullman County Medical Society. After joining Surgical Arts, PC he has served on numerous committees at affiliated hospitals and has served as Chief of Staff and Chief of Surgery.
Dr. Evans offers a wide variety of services including General, Vascular, Thoracic and Laparoscopic Surgery, including the surgical treatment of GERD. He performs Diagnostic and Therapeutic Endoscopy. He offers surgical treatment of breast and soft tissue disease, benign and malignant, as well as cosmetic breast and soft tissue procedures.
Dr. Evans and his wife, Dianne, have three children and are members of First United Methodist Church. Dr. Evans is an avid hunter and he and his family are very active in outdoor recreation and sports.
